1990

With the start of the new decade it was time for another Uniform change. Modern uniforms were brought in across all sections, except for the rainbows. Below you can see a photo of the new uniforms from the May 1990 Girl guiding Magazine;

The new uniform consisted of a mix and match styled uniform, allowing girls to pick which elements of the uniform they would like to wear. The range included sweatshirts, hoodies, jogging trousers, polo shirts, sweaters, shirts and baseball caps, all in each divisions specific colours. Yellow for brownies, Blue for Guides and Aqua for rangers.

The new GO Challenges were introduced within Brownies. The challenges were to help older Brownies move into guides more smoothly and introduce them to the higher division. Aswell as the challenges for the Brownies, a new programme was also established for the Rangers, this was called the Look Wider Programme, this replaced the young leader scheme and service stars Rangers could earn.

Rainbows celebrated their 10th birthday with units holding celebrations across the country.
