1983
The Baden-Powell Award was created for the Guides Division. The award was a challenge undertaken by an individual and could around a year to complete. The badge was split into five sections, healthy Lifestyles, Global Awareness, Discovers, Skills and Relationships and Celebrating Diversity. The award was retired in 2019. With the new award being given to the guides, the Queens Guide programme was moved to the Rangers.
1985
Guiding celebrated their 75th Birthday. To celebrate a flame was lit in London, being passed and shared up and down the countries, throughout the counties and units. Alongside the candle, camps known as 'Rainbow Camps' were held around the U.K.

1987
Rainbows was introduced to the U.K. The rainbows were a new branch to Girlguiding and officially allowed ages under 7s a place in the guiding community. Similar to the bunnies program currently running in Northern Ireland. At the time units didn't have much of a programme to follow so many Rainbow guiders had to plan their own activities, traditions and songs.
1989
Brownies celebrated their 75th anniversary.
